Where Has January Gone?

Well January started yesterday... At least it feels that way! Where has the time gone? January is basically over. Time is flying by so fast and life is so much fun. We are going through some trials right now, but we feel safe in our faith in God and know that things will work out.
Along with all that we decided that we were going to eat healthier and have set some fitness goals for ourselves. Jake signed up for a Spartan race to run with his brother this summer, and my sister, some friends, Jake, and I will participate in the dirty dash this summer as well. My goal is to be able to run 5 miles straight by then. I have never done that before so it will be cool to see what happens.
Jake has been awesome throughout this whole process. For the first two weeks of this month I could only eat 1200 calories and let me tell you what... You do not want to be around a grumpy, hungry Kimmee. Jake is a saint and put up with all my baby fit throwing and pouting. He is also helping me train. I am very grateful to him. Luckily, 1200 calories was only for two weeks and now I can eat more!! YAY!!!
Last night we went out on a date and got some delicious food from one of our favorite places called Saigon Cafe. It is this little Chinese and Vietnamese food place that is run by a cute family. You get tons of food for $6.00. It comes highly recommended! We had a great time together. We were going to to go an improv show but it was sold out.... which is lame because I called a bunch of times to get reservations. So instead we went and got ice cream and then came home and watched "Jack Reacher". All in all it was a good night, and I love my husband.

Although life is throwing hard times our way, we feel very blessed to have each other and to have the Lord guiding and directing us. We are strengthened by our faith in Him. "Things always have a way of working out." We are looking forward to the exciting things that our coming our way this year!

Honeymoon

I know - RANDOM! But here are some long lost pictures from our honeymoon. I found them on Jake's phone and put them on my computer so now I have them. There are only a few but there are some cute ones!

New Years Festivities!

Because we spent Christmas with Jake's family we were able to spend New Years with mine. It worked out perfectly. We had a lot of fun eating yummy food, playing games, watching movies, and just spending time together. We also were able to attend the US Olympic Speed Skating team trials. It was so awesome to watch that. It is my favorite Olympic sport to watch.  Jake and I attempted to fix my sewing machine as well... but that didn't work. We ended the fun winter holiday break by going to the BYU women's basketball game and to dinner with my family.

Our Happy New Year Picture

This movie is called "The Saratov Approach" and it is a true story about 2 LDS missionaries who were abducted in Russia. It was such an incredible film to watch. I cried through a lot of it. These young men were so brave. I felt the spirit throughout the entire movie. I recommend this movie to everyone.

Playing "Disney Headbands" with T, mom, and Jake (Jake did not want to be in the picture, and he wouldn't even wear the ears....LAME!).

At the US Olympic Team Speed Skating Trials.

This is Shani Davis. He won the men's 1500m and hold's the world record. He waved at us!

This is T, J, H, and us (along with B, mom, and dad) at the BYU women's basketball game. They won in overtime. Very intense game!

1st Anniversary :)

Jake and I celebrated our first anniversary on the 29th of December. Because the 29th was a Sunday we celebrated it early. We stayed at a hotel on the strip in Vegas and went to dinner and spent the night relaxing. The next day we slept in, visited the Bellagio Christmas room, and went to lunch. On our actual anniversary we went to church, had a family party with my cousins, and ate the top layer of our wedding cake! It was a really nice day. I love being married to Jake. We have a lot of fun together. One year down, eternity to go!

Polar Bear made of real flowers. They were changing the flowers out while we were there. It was really awesome to watch.

The view from our hotel room. The pictures are super great, but it was awesome. We were on the 28th floor. I have never stayed in a hotel with that many floors before. Going up in the elevators would make your ears plug so you would have to pop them! It was so incredible! I loved it!

Cool chair/couch and lamp in our room.

Our bed! So nice and big.

This is a BBQ Chicken Calzone from Jake's (and mine!) favorite pizza place called Metro Pizza. We don't have one where we live so whenever we go to visit his family we have to go here! So Delicious!

This is the top layer of our wedding cake. It is cookie instead of cake because I am not a huge cake lover. For being in the freezer for a year it still tasted alright!

We had a great 1st anniversary and can't wait for our second!

Christmas Time

Get ready for a post overload because I am going to catch up on all the things Jake and I have been up to over this holiday season! We spent Christmas with Jake's family and met our new nephew L! He is so adorable. We got so many wonderful gifts from our family. Not to mention our brother-in-law hooked us up with a free desk! Jake was so excited because he has been asking for a desk for a long time now. We had to rearrange our apartment, but it looks really good. We feel very blessed with all that we were given this Christmas from both sides of our family. While with Jake's family we visited with extended family, had plenty of food, met up with a great friend, and spent some much needed time with the niece and nephews (except for the one that was in Florida for the holidays!) One of my favorite activities was going to the Las Vegas LDS Temple. I had never been before and was really excited to do that. We saw The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug with Jake's brother and his wife and then we went out to dinner with them as well. I spent an afternoon shopping with my sister-in-law and it was so much fun! I got a super cute hat and some cheesecake (all under $20! Gotta love after Christmas sales!). It was a great trip!
